The Putnam County Historical Society is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization. The Society relies on members and friends. All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
Memberships
The Putnam Country Historical Society is supported through General Fund donations which are used to cover day-to-day operations.
These include:
- Education (association dues, magazine subscriptions, genealogy resources)
- Promotion (printing newsletter and brochures)
- Office Expense (paper supplies, microfilming Society records,
postage, equipment repair/upkeep/replacement); - Pulsifer House and the Agricultural and Historical Museum
(building/grounds maintenance, insurance, security, utilities, acquisitions).
“Daring to Build for the Future” is the Society’s theme to maintain a fund to ensure that future generations will have the opportunity to be knowledgeable about their rich and varied past. Endowment fund contributions are invested, thus providing perpetual income for specified uses in the future. Gifts may be in the form of cash, appreciated securities, real estate, insurance, and bequests. The purpose of the fund is to make the Society financially secure in the future.
